Robert Alford was born in Hammond, Louisiana on November 1, 1988. He was the second round, the 60th overall pick of the Atlanta Falcons in the 2013 NFL Draft. The Atlanta Falcons signed him to a four-year contract amounting to $3.4 million with a guaranteed amount of $1.07 million. He also received a signing bonus amounting to $853,744. He made his debut in the season-opening game against the Atlanta Falcons.
When his contract with the team expired, he signed a contract renewal amounting to $38 million for another four years. He serves as the cornerback of the team and wears shirt No. 23 Prior to going pro; he played college football at Southeastern Louisiana University. He earned the accolade second-team All-Southland Conference in 2011. He decided to play in the 2013 Senior Bowl.
