Robert Carlyle is a Scottish actor born in Maryhill, Scotland on April 14, 1961. He is best known for his roles in the films The Full Monty, The Beach, Trainspotting, and 28 Weeks Later. His debut in film was in 1990 in the movie Silent Scream. He has since been in the films Go Now, Trainspotting, Carla’s Song, The Full Monty, Face, Angela’s Ashes, Summer, 28 Weeks Later, I Know You Know, The Legend of Barney Thomson, and others. His debut in television was also in 1990 in the television series Taggart. He’s had roles in television shows like Hamish Macbeth, Looking After Jo Jo, Hitler: The Rise of Evil, Human Trafficking, Cracker, The Last Enemy, Stargate Universe, Once Upon a Time, and more. He has voiced characters for several video games like Eragon, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror Fate, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, and Watch Dogs. Carlyle has been nominated for a number of awards throughout his career in acting, including an Emmy Award and has won a Screen Actors Guild Award, a BAFTA TV Award, a Gemini Award, three BAFTA Scotland Awards, among others.
