Rodney Hood was born on October 20, 1992. in Meridian, Mississippi. He plays the shooting guard position on the pitch. Hood attended Mississippi State University from 2011-2012, and as a freshman he earned the SEC All-Freshman Team award. He later moved to Duke University via transfer in July 2012. While at Duke, he earned the second-team All-ACC honors, playing in 35 games.
Hood had to forgo his final two years at Duke University because the NBA’s Utah Jazz drafted him in 2014 as the 23rd overall selection. Hood was able to make his first career game-winner helping the Jazz win 103-100 over the Dallas Mavericks by making a three-pointer with only 0.8 seconds left.
