Roisin Conaty Bio

Roisin Marcella Conaty was born March 26, 1979, an English-Irish actress, comedian and writer.

Her performance Hero, Warrior, Fireman, Liar won the Best Newcomer Award at the Edinburgh Festival in 2010. From 2013 to 2017, she starred as Jo in the Channel 4 comedy Man Down. In early 2014, Channel 4 broadcast the pilot of her sitcom GameFace, for which she is the writer, lead actress, and executive producer.

Conaty's play Hero, Warrior, Fireman, Liar won the Best Newcomer Award at the Edinburgh Festival in 2010. She performed at the Melbourne Comedy Festival in April 2011. In 2013, she released "Lifehunter," which was her follow-up to that show.

She also appeared on series 3, episode 4 of Russell Howard's Good News. Other stand-up performances include "The Angina Monologues." Conaty has featured on several panel programs, including Have I Got News for You and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown.

Conaty starred alongside Greg Davies in the Channel 4 sitcom Man Down from 2013 until 2017. She played Daphne/Roxy in the Netflix comedy-drama series Afterlife in March 2019.

She created and acted in the pilot episode of her sitcom GameFace in 2014, in which she portrays Marcella, a struggling actor. A complete series was commissioned after the pilot aired on Channel 4 in April 2014, and it launched on E4 in October 2017. The second season was released in July 2019 with positive reviews.
