Ronnie Dunn was born on June 1, 1953 in Colman, Texas. In 1975, he began his interest in music during his college years at Abilene Christian University. He would play in bars and anywhere else that he could get a gig. He decided Abilene was not enough and he moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma to play in the honky tonks there.
Dunn would join Kix Brooks to form the country group Brooks & Dunn. In 1991, the two released the multi-platinum album Brand New Man. They released several albums and won countless awards including 15 Grammy nominations and two wins. He also has won 28 Academy of Country Music Awards and twenty Country Music Association Awards. They have sold over 30 million records and they are considered one of the most successful duos of all time despite breaking up in 2010. Dunn continues releasing albums on his own, including Tattoo Heart in 2016.
