Rooney Mara Bio
Rooney Mara, born Patricia Rooney Mara on April the 17th 1985 in New York and is an American actress and fashion designer. The actress’ career began in 2005 with small roles, and the actress worked in a variety of independent films and television shows such as Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Women’s Murder Club and ER before being cast as Nancy Thompson in the remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street to critical acclaim as well as Erica in The Social Network.
Coming to worldwide prominence when she portrayed Lisbeth Salander in 2011’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and received critical acclaim, being nominated for both an Academy Award and Golden Globe Award. Going on to appear in further critically acclaimed films such as the drama Carol as Therese, the adventure film Pan as Tiger Lily and the biopic Lion as Lucy before portraying Mary Magdalene in the film of the same name.
