Rory McCann is a Scottish actor. He was born on the 24th of April, 1969, in Glasgow, Scotland. In 1988, he landed his first job as an extra in the industry, in the movie “Willow”, directed by Ron Howard based on a George Lucas’s story. In 2002, he got his first major role, as a disabled training coach, on the television drama “The Book Group”. His work on that movie won the 2002 Scottish BAFTA as The Best Television Performance. In 2004, he played in his first Hollywood production, on the film “Alexander”, alongside Colin Farrell, Angelina Jolie and Jared Leto, where he portrayed Craterus, a Macedonian general. He has played in more than 10 movies, including “The Crew” in 2008, “Clash of the Titans” in 2010 and “Jumanji: The Next Level” in 2019. He also has done numerous television roles in series such as “State of Play”, “Peter in Paradise,” and “Shameless”. He got a major breakthrough in his career when he was cast as Sandor “The Hound” Clegane in the hugely popular HBO series “Game of Thrones”, based on the work of George R.R. Martin.
