Rúben Dias Bio
Ruben Dias is a professional Portuguese soccer player who plays as a defender for Premier League team Manchester City and the Portuguese national team. He was born on 14th May 1997 in Amadora, Portugal. He began his career at the Benfica Academy as a striker and gradually switched to midfield and then defense. He played at the youth setup until 2015, when he made his senior debut with Benfica B. He was called to the senior team in September 2017, where he impressed and was named the best young player of the year in the Primeira Liga.
Ruben Dias joined Manchester City in September 2020 on a six-year deal. After a series of impressive displays, Dias was named Man City’s Player of the month for November 2020.
Dias has played for the Portuguese Under-17, under 19, and under-20 teams. He was called to the senior national team in March 2018. He played a minimal role in the national team until the Nations League competitions, when he played all the matches. He was also part of the Euro 2020 squad that represented Portugal.
