Ruben Studdard Bio
Ruben Studdard is an American R&B, pop, and gospel singer, and actor born in Frankfurt, Germany on September 12, 1978. He became well known after winning the second season of the singing competition show American Idol in 2003. After winning the show, he released his first single, a cover of the Westlife song “Flying Without Wings.” That same year he released his debut studio album titled Soulful. The album charted at number one on the Billboard 200 Albums chart and number one on the Billboard Top R&B and Hip-Hop Albums chart and was certified platinum by the RIAA. He has since released the albums I Need an Angel, The Return, Love Is, Letters from Birmingham, Unconditional Love, and Ruben Sings Luther. He made his debut on television in 2004 in the show One on One and continued landing roles in the shows Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, 8 Simple Rules, Life on a Stick, All of Us, and Eve. In 2006 he made his debut in film in the movie Natural Born Komics and has also had roles in the films Lifted and The Perfect Gift. Throughout his career he has been nominated for a number of awards and has won three Billboard Music Awards, an Image Award, and a Teen Choice Award.
