Ryan Coogler Bio
Ryan Coogler was born on Oakland, California on May 23, 1986. He won the Best Director award for Black Panther from the USA Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films for Best Director. He was also the Director of the Year of the USA CinemaCon.
Creed (2015) garnered various awards including best Director from All Def Movie Awards and African-American Film Critics Association. The film also won the Black Reel Awards for Oustanding Director for Motion Picture.
Fruitvale Station won the Austin Film Critics Award for Best First Film and the Rising Star Award from the Black Film Critics Circle Awards. It also bagged the Un Certain Regard – Avenir Prize from Cannes Film Festival.
He will also direct Black Panther 2 and Wrong Answer. He wrote the sequel Creed II.
