Ryan Kerrigan is an American professional football player born in Muncie, Indiana on August 16, 1988. He is currently an outside linebacker for the Washington Redskins of the National Football League. Kerrigan played football in high school at Muncie Central High School in Muncie, Indiana for the Muncie Bearcats football team. He went on to play college football at Purdue University for the Purdue Boilermakers football team from 2007 to 2010. During his senior season he was a semifinalist for the Rotary Lombardi Award. In 2011 he was selected by the Washington Redskins in the first round, 16th overall, in the 2011 NFL Draft. He was signed to a four-year contract for $8.72 million with a signing bonus of $4.84 million. He made his NFL debut in the Redskins’ season opener against the New York Giants. In 2015 he was signed to a five-year extension contract for $57.50 million with $23.78 million guaranteed and a signing bonus of $16 million. Throughout his career he has recorded 411 tackles, 84.5 sacks, 23 pass deflections, 3 interceptions, 25 forced fumbles, and 3 touchdowns.
