Hailing from Croydon, London, England, Saint Etienne is an English band that performs indie pop and alternative dance. The band consists of Bob Stanley on guitar and production, Pete Wiggs on guitar and production, and Sarah Cracknell on vocals. Their discography includes the hit singles Only Love Can Break Your Heart, Nothing Can Stop Us, He’s on the Phone, You’re In a Bad Way, and the studio projects Words and Music by Saint Etienne, Tales From Turnpike House, and I’ve Been Trying TO Tell You. Their music was featured on the album Caroline Now! The Songs of Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys alongside Eugene Kelly, Alex Chilton, The High Llamas, and Radio Sweethearts. Saint Etienne received a Mercury Prize nomination for Album of the Year.
