Obey City is the stage name of Sam O.B. an American electronic music producer, bass player and DJ. He was born and raised in Long Island’s Suffolk County, U.S. The EP featured sounds intersecting between hip hop, R&B and club music. In 2007, he moved to Hiraka City, in Japan, which was a huge influence for his posterior music. O.B. has stated that he loves contemporary Japanese music, especially Yellow Magic Orchestra and City Pop. O.B. moved to Brooklyn in the early 2010, to pursue a musical career. He released his debut EP “Melted Magic” in 2011, through the label Astro Nautico, before releasing the EP “Champagne Sounds” through LuckyMe Records in 2013. In 2015, he released his second EP on the label, called “Merlot’s Sounds”, which featured collaborations with artists like Kelela.
