Samantha Kerr Bio

Australian soccer player Samantha May Kerr was born on 10th September 1993 in East Fremantle, Western Australia. She started her career with Perth Glory at 15 and played for them from 2008 to 2012 before joining Sydney FC. In 2009, she bagged her first senior international cap and has represented Australia in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup tournaments four times. She has also played at the FIFA Women’s World Cup and the 2020 Summer Olympics. She is the only Australian athlete (male or female) to score a hat trick at a World Cup event. Under her captaincy, Australia achieved their best result with a 4th place finish at the 2020 Summer Olympics. In 2018, she was named the Young Australian of the Year. She is also the recipient of the Medal of Order of Australia. The Footballer Media Association named her the International Player of the Year for two consecutive years and she was named the FWA Women’s Footballer of the Year in 2022.
