Samantha Jane Morton is an exceptional English actress who was born on May 13, 1977.
Morton lived her early life in the Nottingham suburb of Clifton. She is the third child of Pamela, a manufacturing worker, and Peter Morton. She spent her early childhood with her father until she was 8, when she stopped living with her parents for social reasons.
When she was 13, she joined Central Junior Television Workshop, after which she began acting small roles on screen.
Morton moved to London at the age of sixteen and applied to a number of theatre schools, including RADA, but was unsuccessful. She enrolled in Clarendon College of Performing Arts in 1991 to pursue a BTEC qualification, but quit due to some personal issues. She made her debut at the Royal Court Theatre, and went on to star in an episode of Cracker on TV and was a regular cast in Kay Mellor's popular Band of Gold (1995–96).
She has won several awards in her career, which include a British Academy TV Award, a British Independent Movie Award, and a Golden Globe Award, to name just a few.
