Saniyya Sidney is an American actress and was born on October 30th, 2006 in the United States. She is a child prodigy.
Sidney began acting in 2012 and appeared in The Babysitters, a short film. Her first role was as Young Kizzy in the new adaptation of Alex Haley’s Roots. She then traveled to Atlanta where she appeared in Hidden Figures, playing Taraji P. Henson’s daughter. The movie also starred veteran actors Octavia Spencer and Kevin Costner. She then appeared in Denzel Washington’s Fences where she played Denzel and Viola Davis’ daughter.
Her breakthrough came in 2016 when she starred in the horror series American Horror Story: Roanoke. Her act in Fences (2016) earned her a nomination for a Critics’ Choice Award and an SAG Award. She also achieved recognition for appearing in Hidden Figures (2016), Fast Color (2018), and FOX’s vampire drama The Passage (2019).
