Sara Gilbert is an American actress, director and producer. She was born Sara Rebecca Abeles, on the 29th of January, 1975, in Santa Monica, California, U.S. She studied Art and Photography at Yale. She appeared in several commercials as a child and at age thirteen, she landed the role of Darlene in the American sitcom “Roseanne”, in which she played for 9 years. She appeared in several television shows such as “Law and Order: Special Agents Unit” and “Private Practice” starring Kate Walsh. In 2004, she got to play Jane Figler on the medical drama “ER”. In 2005, she obtained a role in the sitcom “Twins”, which was canceled after one season. Two years later, she joined the crew of the popular comedy series “The Big Bang Theory” portraying Leslie Winkle. Gilbert has played alongside Drew Barrymore in two occasions, the first one in 1992, for the movie “Poison Ivy” and the second in 2001, for the movie “Riding in Cars With Boys”. She was a producer and co-host of the talk-show “The Talk” which earned her the 2016 Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show as the producer and creator of the show.
