Sarah McLachlan is a singer, multi-instrumentalist musician, author, and film producer born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada on January 28, 1968. In high school she formed a rock group, The October Game, and after their first concert, at Dalhousie University, she received an offer from the Nettwerk label to record an album, which she titled “Touch” in 1988, and in 1991 she released her second album called “Solace”, followed by “Fumbling Towards Ecstasy” the following year. All three albums were hugely successful in Canada, but it was the latter that brought her worldwide fame. Their fourth album “Surfacing” from 1997 was received on the international charts, climbing rapidly. It was in that year when the Lilith Fair Tour began, a festival of female singers and with the premise of supporting female talent, it toured the entire country for three years. The festival was very successful and boosted the musical careers of hundreds of female singers. In 2014, she released the album “Shine on”.
