SBTRKT Bio

Originating in London, England in 2009, SBTRKT is a musical project led by producer Aaron Jerome. Jerome uses the SBTRKT persona, instead of his own name, to support the concept of anonymity, preferring to have people focus on his music instead of his personal history or details. To protect this anonymity, SBTRKT wears modern interpretations of native society ceremonial masks whenever he appears in public. The masks are created specifically for him by designer and visual art director, A Hidden Place.

SBTRKT has remixed songs by artists such as M.I.A, Radiohead, Modeselektor, Basement Jaxx, Mark Ronson, and Underworld. He has appeared on stage with his frequent collaborator Sampha. In addition to his work with other artists, SBTRKT has released two albums. His self-titled debut was released on June 27, 2011 and featured appearances by Jessie Ware, Little Dragon and Drake. His second album, Wonder Where We Land, was released on October 7, 2014.
