Scotty Maurice Pippen Sr., better known as Scottie Pippen, is an American retired professional basketball player who played as a small forward in the NBA and won six NBA Championships with the Chicago Bulls. He was born in Hamburg, Arkansas, United States, on September 25, 1965. Scottie spent his formative years playing for Hamburg High School and the University of Central Arkansas, and he turned professional in 1987 when he was selected by the Seattle SuperSonics at the NBA Draft. He went on to represent the Houston Rockets, Portland Trail Blazers, Torpan Pojat, and Sundsvall Dragons, but he is best known for his successful time with the Chicago Bulls, with whom he won six NBA Finals. Throughout his career in Chicago, Scottie played alongside Michael Jordan, Steve Kerr, Dennis Rodman, Luc Longley, and Bill Wellington. His career highlights include NBA All-Star, NBA All-Star Game MVP, All-NBA First Team, NBA All-Defensive First Team, USA Basketball Male Athlete of the Year, and three gold medals with the US national team at the Olympic Games and FIBA Americas Championship.
