Born on October 9, 1993, in Garner, North Carolina, United States, Scott Cooke McCreery is an American country music singer who rose to fame after winning the tenth season of American Idol in 2011. McCreery began singing at the church and had already won and participated in a couple of singing competitions before auditioning and eventually winning American Idol. His coronation song “I Love You This Big” was incredibly well-received with hundreds of thousands of copies sold instantly, a response that encouraged him to record his debut album during his American Idol tour. The album Clear as Day released in late 2011 was certified platinum and churned out another Top 20 country single “The Trouble with Girls”. His second album Christmas with Scotty McCreery broke the records and was certified gold. By now, McCreery has released four top 10 albums and continues to croon tunes that pull at his fan's heartstrings.
