Sea Power Bio

British Sea Power is an alternative band formed Abi Fry, Martin Noble, Phil Sumner, Neil Hamilton Wilkinson, Matthew Wood, and Scott Wilkinson (Yan) in Natland, Cumbria, England in 2000.

In 2003, the group released their debut album The Decline of British Sea Power which includes the single “Carrion.” The said track made it to the Top 40 singles chart. In 2005, the group released another album Open Season which made it to No. 13 of the UK albums chart. The lead single from the album, It Ended on an Oily Stage, also climbed to the UK Singles chart and peaked at No. 18.

Other albums by the band include Valhalla Dancehall, Machineries of Joy, and Sea of Bass. The group’s latest album is the 12-track Let the Dancers Inherit the Party was released in 2017.
