Selenis Leyva is an American actress, born on May 26, 1972, in Baracoa, Cuba. She is known for her role in Netflix’s Orange Is the New Black, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Maria Full of Grace. She has also appeared alongside Bill Murray and Melissa McCarthy in the 2014 movie St. Vincent.
Selenis made her acting debut in 1999, in the series Law & Order, and has appeared in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. She has also guest-starred in The Sopranos, Third Watch, Girls, Elementary, and The Good Wife. In 2014, she received the ALMA Award for Outstanding Special Achievement in Television. She has also starred in the drama Custody alongside Viola Davis and Catalina Sandino Moreno. In 2020, she appeared in the comedy-drama series Diary of a Future President which is produced by Gina Rodriguez.
