Semisonic is an American alternative rock band formed in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1995. The members of the band are Dan Wilson, John Munson, and Jacob Slichter. They are best known for their single “Closing Time.” After forming in 1995 they released their debut EP titled Pleasure EP with the label Cherry Disc. In 1996 they released their debut studio album titled Great Divide on the label MCA. They received international success in 1988 with the released of their second studio album Feeling Strangely Fine which contained the single “Closing Time.” They released their third studio album in 2001 titled All About Chemistry. They have also released one live album titled One Night at First Avenue. The band disbanded in 2001 but came back together in 2017.
