Sergiño Dest Bio
Sergiño Gianni Dest, popularly known as Sergiño Dest, is a professional soccer player born on November 3, 2000 in Almere, Netherlands.
Dest began playing football at age 9. Before going pro, Dest started playing for the youth academy in Almere City in 2009. In 2012, he moved to play for the Ajax youth club. Dest started his career at Ajax as a center striker before eventually switching to fullback duties.
On October 15, 2018, after spending six years at the Ajax youth club, Dest made his professional debut for Jong Ajax. After a brilliant spell in the 2017 Fifa U-17 World Cup, Dest was handed a ticket to Ajax's first team. He made his senior debut for Ajax in July, 2019. He received the Ajax Talent of the Year Award in 2020 while playing under Ajax coach, Erik ten Hag.
In October 2020, Dest joined La Liga giants Barcelona in a €24m transfer. He became the first American to play for Barcelona in La Liga after making his dream debut against Sevilla playing alongside Lionel Messi.
