Jorge Mário da Silva, better known as Seu Jorge, is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, and actor who performs samba, MPB, and funk music. He was born in Belford Roxo, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on June 8, 1970. Seu began his music career in 2001 with the release of his debut studio project Carolina. He has since had a decorated career, with a discography that includes the hit singles Amiga Da Minha Mulhe, Burguesinha, Carolina, Felicidade, Final de Semana, and the albums America Brasil O Disco, Ana E Jorge, and Music Para Churrasco. As an actor, Seu’s filmography includes Marighella, Pixinguinha, an Affectionate Man, Paradise Lost, Pele: Birth of a Legend, Elite Squad 2: The Enemy Within, and House of Sand, but he is best known for starring in the action film The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou alongside Bill Murray, Owen Wilson, Cate Blanchett, Willem Dafoe, and Jeff Goldblum. Seu won a Jury Award at the Holidays 365 International Film Festival for Best Supporting Actor - Feature Film, and he received a CinEuphoria nomination for Best Actor – International.
