Michael Barratt, also known as Shakin’ Stevens, is a British rockabilly revival singer born in Wales in 1948. His professional career as a performer started in 1968 as a frontman for the band Shakin' Stevens and the Sunsets. The band made its debut with the LP “A Legend” in 1970 and toured Europe many times. In 1977 Stevens made it into the cast of the musical “Elvis”, which became a success in Britain, and split up with the Sunsets. After signing with Epic in 1980, Stevens released a string of chart-topper hit singles like “This Ole House”, “You Drive Me Crazy”, and “Oh Julie”. In 1985 he reunited with the Sunsets and released the full-length “Lipstick, Powder & Paint”. In 1993, after releasing a compilation of his earlier work, the artist took a break from performing. In 1999, Stevens returned to the stage, and shortly after he took part in the reality TV show “Hit Me Baby One More Time”. In 2007 he released “Now Listen” and in 2011 he issued a 30th anniversary with a world tour and the release of the album “Rockin’ the Blues”.
