Shane McAnally is an American country singer, songwriter, and producer, popular for his charted single “Are Your Eyes Still Blue.” He was born on October 12, 1974, in Mineral Wells, Texas.
McAnally began writing songs and performing at 12. Three years later, he left Mineral Wells for Missouri to perform at the Texans Theater in Branson. Following his run in Branson, he went back to Texas to perform at some music festivals. By this time, he was already studying accounting at the University of Texas but had to quit because he couldn’t deny his passion for music.
McAnally left for Nashville, where he got a recording contract with Curb Music Publishing for his demo song “Just One Touch.” Working with Rich Herring and other top producers benefited McAnally immensely, as three of his singles hit the country charts. However, it was “Last Call,” a song he wrote for Lee Ann Womack in 2008 that gained him a global audience. McAnally never looked back once he hit stardom. He has worked with stars like Kelly Clarkson, Walker Hayes, Miranda Lambert, etc.
The 48-year-old has won a Grammy Award for “Best Country Song” with “Merry Go Round” and “Best Country Album” in 2014. In 2020, he was named as one of Billboard’s Country Power Players.
