Shayne Ward Bio

Shayne Ward is a British singer and actor, born on October 16, 1984, in Tameside, England. He rose to fame after winning the second season of the UK’s The X Factor. In 2005, his debut single That’s My Goal, ranked number 1 on the UK Singles Chart. In 2015, he appeared in the British soap opera Coronation Street.

Before rising to fame he performed in blue-collar clubs and bars as a member of the group Destiny. Prior to competing on UK’s The X Factor, he signed with manager Louis Walsh who was also his mentor during the show. His prize for winning the show included a recording contract with Simon Cowell’s Syco record deal. In 2006, he released his eponymous debut album which debuted at number one on both the UK and Irish Albums Chart. His 2007 album, titled Breathless went Platinum. The album contains hit songs If That’s OK With You, and No U Hang Up. In 2010, he released the album Obsession which included a duet with Sugababes’ Heidi Range. In 2015, he released the album Closer.
