Shea Couleé Bio

Jaren Merrell (popularly known as Shea Couleé) is an American drag queen, performer, and rapper who was born on February 8th, 1989. in Warsaw, Indiana, United States. They studied costume design at Columbia College of Art and worked a while at Broadway Costume before They pursued a career as a full-time drag entertainer.

Shea is best known for contesting in Season 9 of RuPaul’s Drag Race. They came 3rd/4th alongside Trinity The Tuck. In 2020. they competed on All Star 5 and won the season in July the same year, beating Jujubee and Miz Cracker. Shea is also known as the host of Wanna Be On Top?, a discussion podcast where they discusses recent episodes of America’s Next Top Model.

Shea also wrote, directed, and produced their short film Lipstick City, where they shared their drag backstory. Some of their singles include Crème Brûleé (2018.), Gasoline (2018.), Rewind (2019. featuring Gess), and Collide (2020. featuring Gess).
