Shea Whigham is an actor born on 5th January 1969 in Tallahassee, Florida, United States. He is widely recognized for playing Elias “Eli” Thompson in the period crime drama series “Boardwalk Empire,” opposite Paul Sparks and Michael Shannon. Shea started his career in 1997, playing the role of Eric Duke in an episode of the horror anthology television series “Ghost Stories.” From 2016 to 2017, he appeared as Ray Liptrapp in 15 episodes of the dark comedy series “Vice Principals.”
In 2018, he appeared in the television series “Waco,” “Homecoming,” and “Dirty John.” Shea made his film debut in 1998 with the film “Of Love & Fantasy,” playing the role of Craig. In 2013, he appeared in the historical black comedy crime film “American Hustle,” for which he won the Screen Actors Guild Award in the category of Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.
