Sheila E. Born Sheila Cecelia Escovedo on December the 12th 1957 in Oakland, California is an American singer, actress, author and percussionist. Her career began in 1976 when she was a singer and percussionist for The George Duke Band, leaving to pursue a solo career in 1983 she dropped her debut album, The Glamorous Life, which contained the hit song of the same name. In the dance charts for weeks and peaking within the top ten she received Grammy Award nods for her work on the song.
Releasing seven more albums between 1984 to 2013, her latest album Icon was a hit, bringing her into more fame with songs such as Fiesta, Who I Am Now and Lovely Day. Her second album Romance 1600, along with The Glamorous Life both were certified Gold.
