Jamaican track and field athlete, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce was born on 27th December 1986 in Kingston, Jamaica. Considered one of the most enduring track athletes in the world, she has maintained consistency in all the major championships. She is considered to be the harbinger of the Golden Age of Jamaican sprinting. Her signature event is the 100m dash where she has won two Olympic medals and has been five time world champion. She has also won a silver at the Olympics and a gold at the World Championships in the 200m dash. It was in the 2008 Beijing Olympics that she gained worldwide fame after becoming the first Carribean woman to bag gold in the 100m race. She also became the third woman in history to defend a title at the 2012 London Olympics.
