Shepard Fairey is an activist and artist born on 15th February 1970. He is famous for designing the "Andre the Giant Has a Posse" sticker campaign in 1989 and creating the 2008 US presidential election “Hope” poster for Barack Obama. Considering his skills and creativity, the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston, portrays him as one of the widely known and highly influential muralists. Some of his artistry works are incorporated in the collections of The Smithsonian (LA County Museum of Art), the Museum of Modern Art (New York City), the National Portrait Gallery (Washington, DC), the Museum of Contemporary Art and Virginia Museum of Fine (Richmond).
Fairey began the "Obey Giant" campaign, which has grown thanks to the international network of collaborators. His intention was for people to build their creativity. In 2004, he, alongside Robbie Conal and Mear One, created "anti-war, anti-Bush" posters for the "Be the Revolution" campaign.
