Silvestre Francisco Dangond Corrales was born on May 12, 1980, in Urumita, Colombia. His father was singer William José “El Palomo” Dangond Baquero and one of Silvestre’s biggest influences. He teamed up with accordion player Ramón López and released their album Tanto para Tí. He then met accordionist Juancho De la Espriella and agreed to team up for a gig at the Alfonso López Michelsen Building. This led to the albums Lo mejor para los dos, Mas unidos que nunca, and Ponte a la moda. He has also collaborated with his cousin, Jorge Lucas Dangond. His first U.S. gig was held in Miami, Florida and had over 5,000 fans. Silvestre has been nominated for four Latin Grammy Awards and numerous Premio Nuestra Tierra awards.
