Sinead O’Connor is a Grammy-Award-winning Irish singer and songwriter. She was originally discovered by In Tua Nua’s drummer, who helped her co-write a hit song called “Take My Hand”. She has been a member of a band called Tonton Macoute before becoming an independent artist. She later went off to pursue a solo career and sign with London-based record label Ensign Records. With them, she released her debut album, called ‘The Lion and the Cobra’ in the late 80s, which went platinum. She has won multiple awards, including Grammy AWard for Best Alternative Music performance, and been nominated for many others, including other Grammys. She most recently won the World Soundtrack Award for Best Original Song Written Directly for a Film in 2012.
