Rapper Skeme (aka Skeme the Duke) was born Lonnie Kimble on January 3, 1990 in Inglewood, California. He began to make a serious run at a rap career around the age of 17. Fellow rapper Dolla served as his mentor.
His debut mixtape, Skeme of Things, was released in 2007. After the release of several more mixtapes, Tyga, Ty Dolla $ign, and Kendrick Lamar all appeared on his 2010 effort, Pistols and Palm Trees. His full-length debut studio album, Alive & Living, was released in 2012, and featured appearances from Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q, Iggy Azalea, and more. Producers on the album included Boi-1da, The Futuristiks, and DJ Mustard.
In 2013, Skeme released his seventh mixtape Bare With Me, which featured appearances by The Game, Nipsey Hustle, and more. Later that year, album Ingleworld was released. In 2014, he signed to The Game’s Blood Money Entertainment. Album Ingleworld 2, which featured The Game, T.I., Young Thug, and others, was released the following year. 2016’s Inglewood 3 included the single “36 OZ,” featuring Chris Brown. Mixtapes Before 4eva and Paranoia were released in 2016. Skeme’s single “Red Coupe,” featuring London Jae and produced by TM88 and Super Mario came in 2017, followed by mixtape 1st Notice.
