SkillinJah is the stage name of the American reggae singer Kyle Bell. He was born in Houston, Texas on December 5, 1979. He started listening to reggae music at eleven years old after hearing it at one of his brothers soccer games. He instantly fell in love and wanted to be part of the Jamaican culture. In 2000 he started performing in Jamaica and quickly became popular in the underground scene. Bell joined the reggae band Jah Roots and toured the United States with the band. He left Jah Roots in 2006 and in 2008 started the band 45 Shootout and played in clubs in New York. SkillinJah has released over 200 singles released through various record labels. In 2011 he released his debut solo album titled Emergency Spliff with GanJah Records.
