Oliver Dene Jones, popularly known by his online moniker Skream, is a British Dubstep DJ and music producer who was born on June 1st, 1986 in West Wickham, Bromley, London, England. He was born and raised in London.
Jones had the good fortune of starting out at the Big Apple record store which was where he started making beats at the age of 15. When the owner of the store founded a label, Skream jumped on the opportunity. His singles appeared on Ital, Tectonic, and Tempa, and his break-out classic track Midnight Request Line was a hit and received profound praise online. Jones's debut album Skream! dropped in 2006 under Tempa and since then Jones went on hosting weekly programs on dance music Rinse FM. His first mix Rinse:02 appeared in 2007 and it was followed by Watch the Ride in the next year. He continued his brilliancy over the years releasing multiple singles and mixes. 2021 saw the collaboration with producer MUST DIE! and Japanese taiko drummers Kodo. He also dropped the single Chester’s Groove in the same year.
Skream has performed at numerous international music events including Amnesia Opening Party, Riverside Festival, HARD Summer, The BPM Festival: Costa Rica, Lost Horizon Festival, and El Dorado Festival. He was featured on Rudimental’s album Ground Control alongside Anne-Marie, Tion Wayne, MORGAN, and House Gospel Choir.
