Smash Mouth is an American alternative rock band formed in 1994 in San Jose, Santa Clara County, California, United States. The band was formed by vocalist Steve Harwell, a former rapper with the F.O.S. group. The other members of the band include Greg Camp, Kevin Coleman, Paul DeLisle, Steve Harwell, Jason Sutter, Michael Urbano, Leroy Miller, Mitch Marine, and Randy Cooke.
Smash Mouth signed to Interscope and released their first single Walin’ on the Sun. The track quickly became the #1 modern rock hit and pushed the album Fush Yu Mang to the Top 40. Their follow-up effort Astro Lounge appeared in 1999 and included the massive hit All Star single. They later returned with a collection of their early material East Bay Sessions. Some of their early materials were 2001’s Smash Mouth and 2003’s Get the Picture. The group then recorded the cover I’m a Believer which was used as the soundtrack to the hit Shrek 2001 movie.
The band’s fifth album Summer Girl appeared in early September, and six years later, in summer 2012, they dropped their sixth album Magic.
