Sofia Huerta Bio
Sofia Huerta is an American professional soccer player, born on December 14, 1992, in Boise, Idaho. She is best known for playing in the Mexico women's national football team and the Chicago Red Stars. She studied at Santa Clara University, where she was named All-West Coast Conference First Team, Third Team All-American, and co-Player of the Year. Sofia was drafted by the Chicago Red Stars in the National Women's Soccer League in 2015. In the first year, she received the NWSL Rookie of the Year Award. Sofia debuted with the U.S. women's national soccer team on September 15, 2017, and later played with Ashlyn Harris, Becky Sauerbrunn, Allie Long, and Mallory Pugh. She was traded to the Houston Dash in 2018 and later traded to the OL Reign in 2020. She was the first female player to play both for the U.S. national team and against the U.S. national team when she was representing Mexico.
