Sofia Kourtesis Bio
Sofia Kourtesis is an electronic dance music producer, vocalist, and DJ born on August 18, 1984, in Magdalena, Lima, Peru. Her introduction was made with the release of a self-titled EP in 2019. Philip Sherburne acknowledged the EP as house music that skirts convention and renounces rote functionality.
The Berlin-based artist released another EP, Sarita Colonia, in 2020. Her first two EPs were colorful party records, full of thumping bass and choice film samples, released on Sweden's Studio Barnhus. She has appeared on Half of Where You Live, Seeking Thrills (The Ultimate Thrills Edition), One By One (Remixes), Diplo (Deluxe), El Invento EP, and Studio Barnhus Volym 1.
In March 2021, she released her third EP, Fresia Magdalena, on Ninja Tune's Technicolour label. It incorporated a meditative side. She has played in Berlin, New York, Amsterdam, London, and Hamburg. In addition, Sofia played sets at Chalet, Good Room, Baalsaal, Glastonbury Festival, and Pacha.
