Soft Cell is an English synth pop duo, best known for their 70s hit cover of “Tainted Love,” which was originally by Gloria Jones. The duo is made up of singer and songwriter Marc Almond, and the producer and multi-instrumentalist Dave Ball. Together, the two came out with four separate U.K. Top 20 Albums. In the early 80s they released an EP called ‘Mutant Moments’, eventually through Big Frock in 1980. From there they began a relationship with Some Bizarre Records, which has released all of their music since then. Soft Cell also enjoyed hit singles not only in the UK, but also in Canada, Germany and Australia, as well as charting in the US. After splitting, the duo got back together in 2001, and then again in 2018. In 2018, they released “Northern Lights” and “Guilty (Cos I Say You Are)” before holding a farewell show.
