Soledad O’Brien, born María de la Soledad Teresa O’Brien on September the 19th 1966 in New York and is an American journalist and producer. Currently the anchor of the weekly political show, Matter of Fact with Soledad, the journalist’s career began in 1989 as a host for WXKS-FM, and came to prominence in 1991, when she was with NBC News.
Hosting a large variety of shows that include NBC’s Today, ANC 360, In America and Starting Point with CNN, America Tonight with Al Jazeera America and much more. With two books published and multiple Emmy Awards, O’Brien has also won a Peabody Award for her coverage of Hurricane Katrina and a second Peabody for her coverage of the BP oil spill.
