Sonya Yoncheva is a Bulgarian operatic soprano, who was born on December 25th, 1981, in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. The 2021 Opus Klassik Singer of the Year winner is a well-known regular on some of the world's most prestigious stages, including those at the Metropolitan Opera, Royal Opera House, Teatro alla Scala, Bayerische Staatsoper, Berlin State Opera, Wiener Staatsoper, and Opéra de Paris. Both critics and viewers have praised her for the outstanding interpretations of legendary characters. Jewels from the Baroque canon are included in Sonya Yoncheva's broad repertoire, along with pieces by Mozart, Verdi, Tchaikovsky, and Puccini. Sonya has received several accolades for her distinctively lovely voice and excellent theatrical presence.
