Sope Aluko Bio

Sope Aluko is an actress born on 5th July 1975 in Nigeria but raised in the United Kingdom. She experienced many challenges in the film industry due to her accent. She tried to go to classes to get rid of the accent, but she couldn’t. One day she challenged herself to quit the accent, and that was it. She says it was like magic. Aluko is widely recognized for appearing in a wide range of movies, including Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Burn Notice, Bloodline, Parks and Recreation, Army Wives, and Graceland.

In 2018, she played Shaman in the Marvel Studios film “Black Panther,” a role that earned her global recognition. Her appearance in the film was highly praised in her native country Nigeria. Aluko says she had to be fit as one of her scenes involved a lot of physical activity. Her role also involved speaking in different accents. Aluko also starred in the superhero film Venom as Dr. Rosie Collins.
