Sophie Ellis-Bextor Bio

Sophie Ellis-Bextor is a British songwriter, singer, composer and model. She was born Sophie Michelle Ellis-Bextor, on the 10th of April, 1979, in London, England. She began her musical career in the late 1990s, as the singer of the indie pop band Theaudience. After the band split, she continued her solo career and in 2001, she released her debut album “Read My Lips”. The album was a huge success it reached number two in the UK Albums Chart and it also won the Edison Award for Best Dance Album. She released her second album “Shoot from the Hip” in 2003 and it reached number 19 on the UK Album Charts. In 2007, she released her third album “Trip the Light Fantastic” which reached number seven in the UK Charts. She has shared the stage with George Michael, The Saturdays and Girls Can’t Catch among many others.
