Soul II Soul is a music collective from London. The group was founded in 1988 and its current members include lead vocalist/rapper Jazzie B, lead vocalist Caron Wheeler, and lead vocalist Charlotte Kelly. The group has seen its lineup change severally over the years, with some members joining and others leaving. The group is widely recognized for their hit song “Back to Life (However Do You Want Me)”, which topped the UK chart in 1989, and “Keep On Moving”, which charted at number 5 in the UK and 11 in the US.
They released their debut album, titled “Club Classics Vol. One” in 1989. Their second album, “Vol. II: 1990 – A New Decade,” was released the following year. In 1992, they released their third album, titled “Volume III Just Right”, followed by the fourth album “Volume V: Believe” in 1995. Their fifth album, “Time for Change” was released in 1997. They have won several awards, including Best R&B Instrumental Performance for their work on “African Dance” and Best R&B/Urban Contemporary Song of the Year for their song “Keep on Moving”.
