Spirit of the Beehive is a rock band founded in 2014 with two lead vocalists Zach Schwartz and Rivka Ravede, as well as Justin Fox, Timothy Jordan, and Pat Conaboy as instrumentalists. Their band name was inspired by a 1973 Spanish drama film. Spirit of the Beehive merges various distinct music styles with contradictory lyrics and songs that highlight feelings of frustration, numbness, and self-doubt. They started with a self-titled album in 2014, which was co-released by Ice Age Records and Ranch in 2014. The EP You Are Arrived (But You’ve Been Cheated) arrived in 2015. In 2017, indie rock/emo label Tiny Engines issued Pleasure Suck, which was mostly influenced by their debut sound. Shwartz continued his career as a solo in 2020 as Draag Me. Spirit of the Beehive was down to a trio and signed with Saddle Creek. They returned in 2021 with their fourth album Entertainment, Death.
