St. Lucia Bio

St.Lucia is the stage name for John Philip Grobler, a native of South Africa. Today he is based in Brooklyn, New York. Grobler was a member of the Drakensberg Boys Choir and sang the National Anthem with the choir in front of Nelson Mandela at a historical soccer match. St. Lucia has a creative pop sound with a heartfelt undertow. St. Lucia is with Columbia Records and has performed at festivals such as Lollapalooza and Coachella with stars like Ellie Goulding and Two Door Cinema Club. His music has been featured in advertising for Taco Bell and Victoria’s Secrets. St.Lucia’s first album When the Night was an album he created himself to the point of playing every instrument himself and recording it in his studio in Brooklyn. His second album titled Matter is one he says is his most exhilarating yet because he had to change up his writing process and this album he wrote while on tour. He learned to be more concise and more decisive in his actions.
